Saudi Arabia is firmly committed to achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by taking innovative measures and approaches to align the 2030 Agenda and the Saudi Vision 2030, which is an ambitious development plan built around three themes: a vibrant society, a prosperous economy and an ambitious nation and shares the same time frame and end goals with the SDG agenda. Furthermore, the Saudi 2030 Vision is a strategic plan to reduce the country's dependence on oil. This plan considers diversifying the economy and developing sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, recreation, and tourism, and in this way also contribute to the fulfilment of the SDGs. PNU as a government entity supports and welcomes the different guidelines that the state defines to comply with the 2030 vision and therefore the SDGs.
Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University has sought a new brand identity to reflect the noble attributes of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman and the extraordinary role she played in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The idea behind the new logo design was to incorporate her character traits into the university's image, values, vision, and mission, along with its distinctive and original architecture, thus creating a clear concept of identity that reflects the university's spirit and character.
The development progress is one of the top priorities for Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, especially after the announcement of the 2030 Vision and the launch of the National Transformation Program. We shall draw the community to realize the prospects for global leadership and excellence to make a vital community and a quite ambitious country, as it is the sincere desire of our rulers – may Allah keep them safe – to lay the foundations for the development progress that achieves sustainable development.
Based on this approach, which has become the orientation of the country in all sectors, especially the academic and research sectors, we seek to achieve our goals with all the potentials and possibilities to develop what strengthens our techniques and plans. The University's Institute of Development and Consulting Services has been formulating a strategic plan that determines the objectives and aspirations to achieve the University's vision. As it is a part of the 2030 Vision to invest in human minds and prospects and to enrich the economic environment in the Kingdom by the fourth generation of universities that aims to improve access on sustainable development within the framework of the National Transformation Program.
The Institute aims to develop the applied scientific research, alongside scientific and training services at the University; hence, it is responsible for finding ways and means of funding and financial support from the public, private and non-profit sectors for the research projects and consulting services. As well as the University's investment process of resources and endowments, in order to enrich the university's financial revenues of Regulations for Universities Financial Affairs terms of Article (47). This investment process is one of the competitive features of the Institute of Development and Consulting Services, which gives the Institute a wider range of contracting and investing for the University to achieve its objectives.
Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University’s role focuses on serving the community and achieving the sustainable development goals at all levels, as well as for the University to lead its role in realizing the 2030 vision.
