Exceptional Opportunity Period for Academic Purposes



Academic Situations:
Academic situations are set every term as per the following:
1-Excellence: a student receives the excellence status when her term GPA is 4.5 with a minimum 12 credit hours.
2-Alert: A reminder for the student to avoid reaching the warning status. A student is issued an alert in the following cases:
Her term GPA is between 1 up to 2.5.
Her academic accumulative GPA is between 2 up to 2.5.

3-Warning: The warning sent to the student when her academic accumulative GPA falls under 2, in the following order:
First Warning: the student receives a first warning when her academic GPA falls under 2.
Second Warning: the student receives a second warning when her academic GPA continues to fall under 2.
4-Academic dismissal:
First: Students enrolled in bachelor’s programs are dismissed in the following cases:
1-When the student receives three consecutive warnings on her low GPA (lower than 2 out of 5).
2-The student is given a fourth chance (one term) to improve her GPA by studying some courses.
3-Fourth Warning (Academic dismissal): if the student fails to improve her GPA in the fourth chance, she will be dismissed from the university.
4-Student who could not complete the graduation requirements by the maximum graduation period, may be granted an exceptional opportunity period to finish the graduation requirements.

Second: Students enrolled in diploma programs are dismissed in the following cases:
‎1-When the student receives two consecutive warnings on her low GPA (lower than 2 out of 5).‎
2-The student is given a third chance (one term) to improve her GPA by studying some courses.‎
3-Third Warning (Academic dismissal): if the student fails to improve her GPA in the third ‎chance, she will be dismissed from the university.‎
4-Student who could not complete the graduation requirements by the maximum graduation ‎period, may be granted an exceptional opportunity period to finish the graduation ‎requirements.‎
