The study begins at College of Engineering at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University with the beginning of the academic year 1439/1440 AH by registering students in the joint foundation year for all departments in the college through the unified electronic admission portal for students. As this aimed to activate the Royal Order No. 23979 on 19/05/1439 AH, which includes approval on the establishment of the College of Engineering at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University to meet the need of the labor market for engineering cadres.
The college includes academic programs for the undergraduate stage that keep pace with modern scientific development in the engineering fields in order to achieve its graduate competitors in the labor market and enable them to serve the homeland effectively. The college includes two departments, one of which is the Department of Electrical Engineering, it includes two minors, the Communications minor, and Electronics minor, and the other is the Industrial Engineering and Systems Department, where the Industrial Engineering program will be activated.
It is worth mentioning that the creation of the College of Engineering represents a qualitative shift in women's education, and this comes in the context of the university’s role, which requires the qualification and support of women to be an effective force in national development programs. In order to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which works to raise the rate of women's participation in the labor market to 33%, and this will be achieved by introducing specific scientific disciplines needed by ambitious development plans. It also achieves its strategic objectives of providing innovative bachelors and graduate programs based on the latest scientific research, best practices related to labor market needs, leadership, and professional ethics.
