Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research
​Vice Deanship for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research :
The Vice Deanship for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research  is working within the College of Dentistry to achieve the college’s vision and mission to produce teams that can take on responsibility, lead the college into the future, and provide educational services that meet global standards.
As scientific research plays a crucial role in supporting the social renaissance, the Vice Deanship seeks to increase the level of submitted scientific research and raise awareness about the importance of scientific excellence and publication in international journals. The Vice Deanship also strives to create a strong research environment for members by providing specialized research seminars and workshops that focus on search methods and excellence in scientific publishing.
In addition, the Vice Deanship  seeks to attract teaching assistants and lecturers with specific competencies to support the educational process. Moreover, they are encouraged to study abroad and  further their education with the support of scholarships and follow-up on their academic progress.
The Vice Deanship believes that  the College Library occupies another vital role in the educational process, which is why it is enriching the library’s holdings with books and scientific reference materials related to the field of dentistry.

Our mission is excellence in preparing competent staff with strong scientific, professional, and research skills in the field of dentistry that elevate the educational and research process and enrich society with these special services.
Goals :
Create a policy for scholarship and scientific research.
Identify necessary procedures to get a scholarship .
Propose an annual plan for a scholarship for teaching assistants and lecturers after coordinating efforts with the relevant authorities at the University.
Consider recommendations from the College Council for Scholarships and implement them in  the annual plan.
Enable outstanding students who have degrees in dentistry to continue their higher education in  international universities .       
The Provision of postgraduate programs to respond to labor- market needs and keep improving the levels of these  programs to match the distinctive global programs .
Find prestigious educational institutions to supervise the postgraduate programs academically to keep pace of  the rapid progress of the science and technology in the leading international universities in the field of dentistry .
Attract outstanding  students with scholarships to convert their scholarships to PNU and then they will be able  to join the college’s faculty members.
Improve the quality of the scientific research .
The communication with the International Research Centers to keep pace with the progress in dental research .
Establish educational programs for graduate students including training courses ,workshops ,short courses and International scientific conferences .
Increase  the efficiency of the university  graduates and improve their skills for  the labor market, the government and private sector. 
Foster the concept of quality improvement for the activities of the center .
Organize cooperation between the center and the other Institutions .
Support contributions of graduate studies, student research, and published research or similar releases.

The preparation of reports ,manuals and policies .
The preparation of a strategic operational plan of the center.
Supervision of the implementation of programs approved by the Deanship of Scientific Research.
Build research partnerships at the national, regional and global levels to create  a culture of achievement  on a high level.
Promote shared responsibility ,ethical conduct and the commitment to the standards of  conducting research .
Enhance the abilities of researchers to get research grants and to be able to manage it .
Effective investment in  the promising research project and building human capabilities .   
Commitment to establish the infrastructure to facilitate the management of operations ,provide integrated research services  raised to the highest standards of quality and transparency .
Raise awareness of the value of research at Princess Nourh bint Abdulrahman University .
Develop  the relationship between sponsors and financiers .
The enhancement of research capacity and human capital in the global research     community.
Infrastructure support for interdisciplinary research.
Enhance the movement of scientific publishing through research partnerships.
Research capacity-building: human and non-human in dental research to qualify second-tier  researchers in dentistry.
Design programs aimed at enabling female faculty members and others to carry out research and studies in order to enhance the research movement in the university.
Supervise the design and implementation of research support programs in partnerships with the private sector.
Organize scientific meeting, training courses and workshops aimed at raising the knowledge of researchers.
Follow up the research movement in the faculty and make an inventory of the research output.
Supervise the conduct of research carried out by Ethics Committee.
Govern faculty research activity
Preparation of  the databases to monitor research activity.
Evaluate the research movement and its associated activities and prepare evaluation plans.
Develop continuous education programs for researchers, recent graduates and students, as appropriate.
Oversight the establishment of research chairs and research center of excellence ,in accordance with the strategic plan and available resources.

Postgraduate Unit:
Tasks:
Create general policy for external and internal scholarships and presenting it  to the relevant committees.
Define the actions needed for a scholarship in coordination with the university administration.
Determine the annual plan to scholarships  for teaching assistants and lecturers after coordination with the relevant authorities at Princess Norah University.
Consider the recommendation of the Council of the Faculty of Dentistry for scholarships and to coordinate the implementation of these recommendations in the annual plan for scholarships.
Help the teaching assistants and lecturers in the Faculty of Dentistry to continue their higher education in the international universities.
Follow -up the scholarship applications for the lecturers  and teaching assistants of the Faculty of Dentistry.
Complete the requests for internal and external scholarships such as t(extension , upgrading the scholarship, changing the university , changing the major , etc. ) and work for this in coordination with the Department of Training and Scholarship at the University.
Communicate with the Department of Training and Scholarships regarding  the grants for study abroad.
The appointment of  academic supervisors for all external and internal scholarship holders.
Organize and archive the files of scholarship students who finish their study inside and outside the Kingdom , and identify deficiencies in the files and  keep updating them weekly.
Update the forms of scholarships according to the updated university website and make sure that these forms are specifically required from the Department of Training and Scholarships at the University in order to terminate the scholarships procedures. 
Supervise the Graduate Studies Committee which is responsible for the Master of Science in Dental Research Program.
Supervise the permanent scholarship and training committee which is responsible for the requests of the internal scholarship.
Monitor the requests for internal scholarships provided by self-employment employees by presenting them to the competent committee, and follow-up scholarship students during the period of their studies. 
Attract outstanding  students with scholarships to convert their scholarships to PNU and then they will be able  to join the college’s faculty members.
Provide postgraduate programs to meet the demands of the labor market, and improve the level of these programs to cope with the international distinctive  programs.
Find prestigious educational institutions to supervise the postgraduate programs academically to keep pace of  the rapid progress of the science and technology in the leading international universities in the field of dentistry .
Supervise the entrance examinations in postgraduate programs for new applicants.
The Coordination with  the departments regarding postgraduate requests 
Plan and organize everything to facilitate the work of the unit.
Follow up the periodic reports of  the master's and doctoral theses for postgraduate students and submit them to the Vice Deanship.

Library Unit
Message :
To foster growth in the community by providing an interactive knowledge environment that supports the efforts to meet informational needs, support scientific research, and achieve the university vision of success locally, regionally, and globally.
​Objectives: 
The Library aims to provide informational, technical and office services to the academic society. These services support the scientific research and sustain the educational process.
​Tasks:
Supervise the technical works of the library (such as: index, classification, shelving, ordering books and guiding readers).
Manage the library through planning, arranging and reporting.
Supervise circulation of lending and retrieving books.
List requirements of information resources and submit them to the Deanship of Library Affairs to present them to the library..
Make a monthly statistic of the number of borrowers and students who visit the library. Then, sending them to the deanship of library affairs.
Submit biannual report for the unit’s activities.
Arrange the lending process by allowing and specifying time for it.
Help students and faculty members when choosing information resources and show them how to access the resources.
Create an annual library inventory report and submit as an annual requirement.

Learning Resources Unit
Tasks:
Arrange the contents of  the learning resources lab.
Make visit schedules for the beneficiaries of the lab.
Allow the lending service.
Maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Submit an annual inventory of the Learning Resources Unit.
