Electronic Doll in the College of Dentistry
(Hessa) the electronic doll or so-called educational robot, is a quantum leap in university teaching. The College of Dentistry at Princess Noura Bint Abdulrahman University applied this technique, which helped to raise the level of performance of students before graduation.
It is the first college of dentistry in the Middle East to acquire this technology after the manufacturer Japanese.
Hessa, the robot is a final transition for students after training in the laboratory on all dental procedures such as fillings, crowns and root canals treatment. It is a final stage to make sure the student knows how to deal with the patients interactively so that students apply what they learned on this doll.
Their training on the doll shows their ability to respond to any reaction from the real patient such as sneezes, rapid heartbeat, panic or bleeding. The student is tested for biomedicalmanagement  of the patient. After she passed this tet , the student becomes fully qualified to begin to treat real patients.
One of the most important results of this training process is the confidence of the students before moving to treat their patients.  the Asstudents of dentistry differ from the rest of the students of other health specialties, as they practice the actual work since their third academic year and begin to apply it  directly.
