Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University lunches Postgraduate diploma in Physical Education for girls

PNU, represented by Physical Sports Sciences Department in the College of Education, has launched postgraduate diploma in Physical Education Program in partnership with Ministry of Education in Physical Education during the second semester 1439/1440 AH. This program targets the Bachelor's degree graduates in majors of physiotherapy, nutrition and fitness. The in-service female teachers, who obtained Bachelor's degree in major of Family Education, nominated by the ministry; in order to contribute to achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030, through preparing the cadres qualified to find new job opportunities, as well raising the community awareness of the importance behind the Saudi women's practice to sports and physical activities.

 

The diploma program aims to qualify a number of teachers and Saudi universities graduates in the relevant majors, whose number amounted to nearly 100 candidates, to be qualified for teaching the physical education subject to girls in all general education levels.

 

The Dean of College of Education, Dr. Maha bint Abdullah Al-Sulaiman, explained that the postgraduate diploma in Physical Education comes to emphasize the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and a support for construction and development march that requires resilience and acceptance of the idea of the purposeful and deliberate change. The active community with an environment full of aspirations indicates the importance of living a healthy life with balanced healthy style and raising the level of sports practitioners that is positively reflected on the community members' health, as well reducing the ratio of chronic diseases.

 

Ministry of Education has adopted the task of finding teachers of physical education for girls through the idea of postgraduate diploma for those who have Bachelor's degree in the relevant majors to qualify them as physical education teachers through regular study for two semesters, Al-Sulaiman added. She pointed out that PNU, due to its material and human capacities capable of providing high quality courses. It is worth noting that PNU is among the universities nominated by Ministry of Education to participate in activation of the diploma.

 

Furthermore, the Physical Education Diploma Program is consistent with PNU mission to be inclusive of women and distinct in its educational leadership and scientific research, and contribute to building the knowledge economy with a community and global partnership.
