Brief About the Chair


The objectives of the chair:


1) Conduct and publish a collection of research resulting from the chair in internationally classified journals.

2) Establishing local and international research partnerships with relevant entities.

3) Providing laboratory analysis services to the public and private sectors in the field of environment.

4) Holding conferences, seminars and scientific workshops.

5) Providing scientific advice to governmental and private entities.

6) Develop the chair to work with self-financing in the future.

7) Create an advanced research environment in environmental pollution.

8) Develop pollution detection mechanisms and treatment methods.

9) Preparing undergraduate and master's students as researchers in specialized fields in pollution detection and treatment.

10) Enhance the quality and quantity of research focused on pollution treatment in Saudi centers and universities.

11) Establish and develop new strategies to translate research results in order to improve the performance of pollution centers in the Kingdom.




The main research topics of the chair:


1) Conduct surveys of the percentage of environmental pollution in different areas of the Kingdom.

2) Study the effects of pesticides on plants, living organism tissues and biocontrol methods.

3) Study the effects of fertilizers on human or animal health.

4) Study the impact of harmful gases in the air on the environment and its components.

5) Propose solutions to get rid of or reduce the waste of burning car fuel and various means of transportation.

6) Propose recyclable alternatives for fuel and everyday consumables so that they can be used

7) Vital studies to eliminate microbes resulting from certain types of pollution.

8) Study the residues of industry and its effects and propose appropriate ways to treat them.

9) Study radioactive pollution in the environment with all its components.

10) Study the contamination of food products in all its forms.

11) Study the relationship of breast cancer to pollution.

12) The effect of contamination on fetal malformation and premature births.

13) The relationship of the economic and educational situation of families in raising their awareness of the dangers of pollution both in food and in the use of chemical detergents.

14) Conduct surveys to find out the relationship between the use of disinfectants, detergents and chemical cosmetics with the spread of certain diseases such as cancer, respiratory diseases, skin diseases and some psychiatric diseases.

15) Study the percentage of pollution in areas where waste is frequently dumped on the ground, especially parks and beaches.
