​​​Introduction:

In light of the increasing and rapid cognitive growth, and PNU's aspirations towards regional and international excellence and leadership, H.E. Rector of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University approved the establishment of five research centers in order to serve and encourage scientific research in the different fields of science, art, literature, education, and humanity. As well as to overcome the obstacles and provide support and advice in alignment with the scientific research regulations of the universities regulations.  
The establishment of PNU's Scientific Research Center is for the pure and applied researches of PNU's College of Sciences. It aims at achieving PNU's mission and objectives in order to promote scientific research with innovations and provide outcomes that contribute to the inventions. It also aims at promoting PNU's vision in achieving international leadership and community partnership through participating in useful applications.      

Establishment:
PNU's Scientific Research Center in the College of Sciences was established through the Rector's resolution No. (159\1) in 10\01\1435 H. 

Vision:
To excel and lead locally and internationally, and invest knowledge in the theoretical and applied research fields.

Mission:
To establish outstanding scientific research in the fields of Applied Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology. To develop research programs and projects to promote and strengthen the community partnership.

Objectives:
• To link the scientific research with PNU's objectives and the national developmental plans based on vision 2030. 
• To promote the interdisciplinary researches between the departments of college of sciences and other departments in universities and research centers.
• To localize the modern technologies.
• To encourage the research work in the field of community services through community partnerships. 
• To contribute to finding solutions for the environmental issues and factory waste.

Target groups:
• Faculty and the University members.
• Students of the Science college at the University.
• Students of Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University through supporting graduation projects for students.
• Researchers in relevant research centers.
