Origin and Overview

​​​​​​​​​​​​​The PNU Vice Rectorate of Health Affairs oversees the operation of the five PNU health colleges, namely: the College of Medicine, the College of Dentistry, the College of Pharmacy, the College of Health Sciences and Rehabilitation, and the College of Nursing, ensuring that they are fully equipped and that they provide  students with a motivating academic environment. Furthermore, the Vice Rectorate operates the primary health services offered at PNU, the Medical Skills and Simulation Center, and the Medical Education Department. In addition, the Vice Rectorate supervises all health education programs. The Vice Rectorate of Health Affairs is responsible for:

1- Preparing the annual and five-year plans for the Vice Rectorate, and monitoring their implementation once approved.

2- Supervising the preparation of plans and programs for health colleges and the administrative units associated with the Vice Rectorate and following-up on their implementation once approved.

3- Defining regulations, instructions, and standards related to health affairs at PNU and their implementation.

4- Supervising the health colleges and administrative units associated with the Vice Rectorate, and coordinating between them to ensure the integrity and to achieve maximum benefit from the available resources.

5- Communicating with international health education institutions to make use of their experience in the development of health programs and activities at PNU.

6- Communicating and coordinating with the relevant authorities within and outside PNU to implement PNU health activities and programs.

7- Discussing the evaluation results of the various health programs and activities for future development plans.

8- Representing PNU in regional and international conferences, seminars, and committees related to health activities.

9- Identifying the Vice Rectorate needs for labor, equipment, and tools, and following-up on their availability.

10- Preparing periodical reports on the activities and achievements of the Vice Rectorate, submitting proposals, and presenting them to the PNU Rector.

11- All other tasks assigned to the Vice Rectorate within its scope of work.
