Brief About Department

​​​​Mission:

Prepare competent cadres, qualified on the levels of knowledge, profession and research of diagnostic and therapeutic radiology in accordance with the latest standards for the development of health care and community service.

Objectives:

-  Qualify specialized cadres with high skills in the fields of diagnostic and therapeutic radiology. 

- Provide continuous learing services and innovation according to modern technology in the fields of diagnostic and therapeutic radiology. 

- Produce researches in various fields of radiation that contribute to the application of evidence-based practice.

- Disseminate awareness related to the diagnostic and therapeutic radiology fields to improve the health and quality of life of the community in cooperation with the relevant sectors.​

Knowledge and Understanding:
K1: Describe the basic and professional level concepts and theories related diagnostic imaging profession.
  • K2: Recognize clinical procedures methods essential for diagnostic imaging, health care services, and research.​
Skills:
S1: Apply all the procedures to the practice of diagnostic profession in different settings.
S2: Relate the appearances of diagnostic images to the anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • ​S3: Solve diagnostic imaging problems and calculations using information technology and cognitive skills.
Values:
V1: Comply with professional characteristics of patient safety, group work, leadership, and social responsibilities needed in diagnostic imaging.

 Graduate Attributes:

Knowledge: Knowledgeable of the basic concepts, theories and principles associated with the field of Diagnostic Imaging.

Application: Capable to use recent technology effectively as well as use the attained theoretical knowledge to perform Diagnostic Imaging examinations on a patient in an accurate, safe and timely manner in different contexts. 

Critical thinking, analysis and creativity: Critical, innovative and creative in response to different challenges related to Diagnostic Imaging profession.

Self-development: Adaptable to different environments through self-learning and through participation in learning situations that encourage development of competencies and professional characteristics related to the Diagnostic Imaging profession.

Leadership skills: Capable of displaying leadership required for the full use of their intellectual abilities in different environments related to the Diagnostic Imaging practice.

Communication skills: Good listener and a clear communicator when working in health care and when contributing to community service related the Diagnostic Imaging field.

Aptitude and attitude: Capable of complying with “Standards of Professional Performance” and the “Code of Ethics for the Profession of Diagnostic Imaging Specialist”.

Community service: Responsible in raising awareness in the community about the benefits and harms of radiation used in Diagnostic Imaging procedures.
