College of Social Work organizes a training course entitled (Emotional Intelligence)

Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, represented College of Social Work in partnership with the Family Education Center, has recently organized a training course entitled (Emotional Intelligence), presented by the trainer Abeer Al-Yahiya at the Family Education Center in the college's “Dialogue Café".

 

The course aims to raise the awareness of the students and the importance of emotional intelligence for success in life, training the students to manage emotions, and introducing students to the importance of empathy and management of relationships with others.

 

Among the most important themes that have been addressed are:

·        The concept of emotional intelligence.

·        Are we emotional or rational?

·        Values in the light of emotional intelligence.

·        Emotions management hypotheses.

 

The trainer Abeer explained the concept of emotional intelligence of the human being, its importance and impact on their success in life, and the need for human awareness of their feelings and the feelings of others. Furthermore, she touched on various scientific theories to increase people’s awareness of themselves and their knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses, and work to develop them and manage their emotions well, which in turn develop their personal skills.

 

The course also touched on the struggle of reason and emotion and the need to balance them to achieve happiness, pointing to the need to identify the motives of human behaviour behind personal values, which leads to a deeper understanding of the human soul and others around them.

 

It is worth noting that the training courses, organized by College of Social Work in partnership with the Center for Family Education, aim to provide specialized and distinct programs according to scientific and professional bases for the inpidual and the family in the psychological and social fields. Based on the message of Princess Nourah University respecting the need to strengthen its role in activating the National Transformation Plan 2030, which the University considers a qualitative breakthrough towards a bright kingdom, and an initiative from its part in activating the community partnership.
