Overview

The general plan for sustainability management comes within the framework of implementing the objectives of establishing the department, and in order to support visions and innovation for the sustainability of facilities, environment and resources in the university city, and in order to fulfill the tasks assigned to it and to achieve and develop regulations to develop the work of the administration.

The Sustainability Department aims to rationalize the consumption of service resources and enhance the environmental health of the University City through setting policies and following up on plans for operation and maintenance of assets.

Departments

  Energy Department:

- Activating the BMS building management system to manage energy in buildings

- Examination of the performance efficiency of the cooling station, pumps and heaters

- Establishing wind and solar power stations

- Reviewing the operation of pumps and heaters and ensuring their compliance with energy policies

- Follow-up the project of (Rationalization) to monitor the consumption of electric energy and appropriate solutions to avoid it

- Examine the automatic lighting sensors and ensure their efficiency

Water Department:

- Ensure the conduct and results of the periodic examination of drinking and usage water.

-  Reviewing the operation and distribution of gray water stations.

-  Introducing products and practices that reduce the use of water in irrigation and usage.

Environment Department:

- Conducting an examination of indoor air quality in buildings.

 - Reviewing waste collection and disposal procedures and their compatibility with standard environmental management policies.

- Providing awareness courses in colleges to deal with waste.

 - Conducting field tests for noise.

- Develop policies aimed at reducing the use of carpets and curtains in buildings.

- Ensure the amount of natural and electric lighting and its suitability for the type of headquarters.

- Ensure the used quantities of pesticides, fertilizers and cleaning fluids.

Parks Department:

- Administrative supervision of the operation of the gardens

- Presenting a study on the current need for parks and afforestation in the university city

-  Re-cultivation of desolate areas

- Creating a new aesthetic design for afforestation and green spaces, approving and implementing it

- Reviewing periodic maintenance schedules for irrigation networks
