Brief About Department

Printing Department

Overview

The printing press was established with the inception of the Administration of Girls' Colleges in Riyadh, and at that time it was a section of the Department of Services and Maintenance, as it was responsible for designing and printing the needs of the Administration of Girls' Colleges in Riyadh and its affiliated colleges, which numbered at that time (7) colleges. In 1428 AH, the Riyadh University for Girls was established by a royal decree, and the printing department was transferred from the Administration of Girls' Colleges to the Academic City for Girls and became a section of the Department of Operation and Maintenance. In 1429, an administrative decision was issued to separate the Printing Department from the Department of Operation and Maintenance and make it an independent department affiliated with the Department of Public Relations and Information at the university under the name (Printing and Publishing Department). In the year 1433 AH, the printing press was developed and new sections were launched, such as the offset printing section and the banner printing section. In the year 1439 AH, the qualitative shift took place, as advanced machines were imported in printing and binding, to achieve self-sufficiency for the university in the field of printing.
