Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University has been the pioneer in women's higher education since its inception, and it has made every effort to provide all the necessary components for it to achieve its mission and goals. The university is aware of the importance of the role that scientific societies hold as it was described as one of the main tools in the development of science and research, professional and academic work.

Scientific societies are the forum that brings its affiliates together, where they meet periodically to discuss and clarify ideas that contribute to the development of sciences in a particular specialization, as well as through specialized courses, scientific magazines, annual conferences, seminars and workshops. Research papers are presented and discussed with all transparency to develop ideas and insights to become a reality to be used in the advancement of science and professional development.

The societies are supervised by the department of scientific societies that are organizationally related to the University's Deanship for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research to follow up on their plans and activities. And also, facilitating the procedures for establishing new scientific societies under the university umbrella.​
