Dean's List


Dean's List Definition:

The Dean's List is an honorary list presented to outstanding female students, whether academically or in extracurricular activities. It is divided into two tracks:

1-  Academic excellence track.

A list extracted from the banner for female students whose GPA is greater than or equal to 4.99, provided that they have completed 30 hours or more.


2- Extracurricular excellence track

A list of distinguished persons according to the criteria shown in Table No. 1

 

Its purpose:

Motivating students to participate in curricular and extracurricular activities and events, which in turn helps them develop

Enhancing their social and communication skills, raising their level of self-confidence, creating a spirit of initiative and the ability to interact positively with others, in addition to teaching and acquiring personal skills and raising awareness of strengths and weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.

 

Conditions for applying to the Dean's List for the Extracurricular Excellence Track in the College of Computer and Information Sciences:

1.   The cumulative average should not be less than 3.5 out of 5, with a certified copy of the academic record attached.

2.   The male or female student does not receive a failure or deprivation in any of the study plan's courses.

3.   Not to issue any type of disciplinary sanctions against the student during the years of study at the college.

4.   The number of hours passed is not less than 30 hours.

 

Mechanism for applying to the Dean's List:

1.   Form the Dean's Honors List Committee as you deem appropriate.

2.   Disseminate the nomination form to the students and fill it out electronically, attaching proof of this.

3.   The committee reviews the applications and then sorts the results.

4.   Announcing the Dean's List and the privileges granted to its members on the college's website.

 

Advantages of joining the Dean's List:

•     Honoring female students at the college's closing ceremony.

•     Publishing the names of distinguished students on the college's website.

•     The student obtains a certificate of excellence to be added to the skills register.

4- A representative of the college in internal activities (guidance friends, preparation week, and conferences organized by the college) 3 points for each participation, with a maximum of 6 points.

5- A representative of the college in events outside the university - 4 points for each participation, with a maximum of 8 points

​Third: Initiatives and professional development ​ ​

1- Implementing a leadership initiative (10 points in evaluation)

2- Professional certificates from outside the student's study plans (5 points for each certificate)

​Fourth, research activity ​ ​

1- Scientific research published or accepted for publication on behalf of the college: 10 points

2- A scientific poster published or accepted for publication or a scientific paper accepted in a conference on behalf of the college: 8 points

3- Participating in an existing scientific research as a co-author, 3 points for each research, a maximum of 6 points

4- Participation in published, existing, or accepted scientific research for publication: 3 points for each participation, with a maximum of 6 points

5- Participation in competitions at the university level or outside it, with two points for each participation and a maximum of 6 points.

​Fifth: Obtaining a prize ​ ​

1- Obtaining an award within the college earns two points for each award, with a maximum of 6 points

2- Scientific Excellence Awards: Two points for each award and a maximum of 4 points

3- Obtaining an award for participating in sporting, cultural, or scientific activities and competitions at the university or university level. Two points for each award, a maximum of 6 points.

4- A patent or innovation: 10 points

​Sixth: Volunteer work and social responsibility ​ ​
Participation in volunteer campaigns or any organized social or awareness activities that benefit society (two points for each participation)20
