International Microsoft Specialist Competition

Under the auspices of Princess Norah Bint Abdulrahman University represented by the Community College and the University Vice Rectorate for Academic Support and Student Service, and in cooperation with the Technology Pioneers Company, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated in the International Microsoft Specialist Competition, which was held in New York City, New York, USA, in August 2019.

Three students qualified to participate in the international competition. Abdulrahman Mohammad Khayyat from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals came in first place, Ghada Emad Alghamdi from Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University came in second place, and Sarah Mohammad Khayyat from Dar Al-Hekma University came in third place. This is because of their excellent results in the initial competition held at PNU and organized by the Microsoft Certification Exam Center at the Community College and a number of centers in the Kingdom. 161 students from 119 countries participated in the final qualifications in New York. The rules of the competition included obtaining an (MOS) certificate in one of the Microsoft Office programs.

Organizing the Kingdom's first participation in this international competition strengthened the University's role in spreading the culture of transitioning into digital education and keeping pace with the national plans of the Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Plan for Communications and Information Technology.
